PM8-GAV

Vanquish Vampire Power!

Surge Protection with Current Sense Control
Completely shutdown equipment when the system is not in use, while leaving power to half of the outlets for equipment that needs to run continuously.

Application

Here's an example list of of home theater components:

  • Television
  • Cable box (or any set-top box)
  • Home Theater system (Basic Audio Receiver)
  • DVD player
  • Powered Subwoofer
  • PM8-GAV

Install the components into the following outlets on the PM8-GAV:

  • Outlet 1 (Switched) - Television
  • Outlet 2 (Switched) - Subwoofer
  • Outlet 3 (Switched) - DVD Player
  • Outlet 4 (Switched) - Empty
  • Outlet 5 (Current Sense) - Home Theater system
  • Outlet 6 (Always On) - Cable/Set-top box
  • Outlet 7 (Always On) - Empty
  • Outlet 8 (Always On) - Empty

Given that you will always need to have your Home Theater System turned on in order to hear what’s being seen on your TV, it makes sense to keep those devices turned on when you use your Home Theater system. Therefore the Home Theater System will act as the control to energize those other devices.

With this configuration, when you turn on your Home Theater System (Basic Audio Receiver), your entire system will power on or energize into Standby.

Your cable box/set-top box or DVR will always remain on so you won't lose your scheduled DVR programming. You might still need your remote control to turn on some devices as they might power on into a standby mode.
